How to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?

i would like to now where it is on my car and how hard is it to change it and where it is my top radiator hose is really hard and it got hot today and the warning light came on i would really like to now where this thing is ok thank youHow to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?
the radiator hoses are suppose to be hard (coolant has 16 of pressure),

and what warning light came on?, there are so many. and what makes you direct your attention to the radiator??? I think you are going the wrong way , anyway the heater core is inside the box that also carries the a/c evaporator, need to remove the dash, the a/c lines in the engine compartment, the heater hose, so give to a professional, you'll save yourself a lot of griefHow to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?
the heater core may not be what caused it go get hot like that, the top hose is real easy to see its that one on top of the radiator,to remove the heater core though you have to remove the heater box and that does require the dash to be loosened enough to slide it back out of the way then you can remove the heater box assembly, but makes sure that's what is needed before you remove it, that's a lot of work to do to one without knowing for sure, good luck. How to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?
Heater cores are generally located under the dash inside the car on the passenger side. It's not hard to change but it is full of coolant. So take precautions if it truly needs to be changed. If your warning lite came on on it's probably not the core. Check your radiator fluid and thermostat first. Those are the first and easier quick fixes to check. Heater cores aren't normally the problem. How to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?
It is behind the dash on the passenger side of the car. The dash must come out of the car. On some vehicles, the windshield must be removed in order to remove the dash. A qualified technician could probably do the job in 6 hours. How to find out where heater core is in my 1996 dodge neon?

Heater core going bad, leaking coolant...how long can I drive my car safely until it gets fixed?

My 2002 Chevy Cavalier was leaking coolant and I found out today at the oil change place, it's leaking from the heater core, and it's cracked, meaning that's the problem. I'm only just topping off my car with coolant every 2 days until I am able to get the problem fixed (friday) but is it ok to drive my car around until then, as long as I keep the coolant level up and don't use my heat or air in my car??Heater core going bad, leaking coolant...how long can I drive my car safely until it gets fixed?
As long as you don't let your coolant level get too low, you'll be fine to drive it until Friday.Heater core going bad, leaking coolant...how long can I drive my car safely until it gets fixed?
keep the heater temp control all the way to cold. the coolant will not flow into the core. check your coolant level.Heater core going bad, leaking coolant...how long can I drive my car safely until it gets fixed?
As long as you dont lets your engien run out of, or too low on coolant, it will not effect yoru engine.

Obviously you will be leakign coolant onto your floorboard in yoru car, which is anoying, to stop this, you can bypass your heater core by redoing the hoses that goto it, it fairly simple to do, and the end result will be you will not have heat in your car untill you replace the heater core, and reconnect the hoses.

Its springtime, and you really shoudlnt need your heat for several months, so i thing this is your best option. Also heater cores are very labor intensive to replace.

In the future, change your coolant as recomended by the manufacturer of your vehicle, failure to chang coolant will will result in the insides of your radiator and heater core coroding and cracking, which is most likel;y waht put yoru vehicle in the condition it is in now.Heater core going bad, leaking coolant...how long can I drive my car safely until it gets fixed?
Drain the coolant out of the heater core.

Tie off the hoses running to your heater core.

(find the 2 hoses that run to your heater core, there should be an inlet and outlet. Now drain some of your coolant down so it doesnt leak out.

Then pop off ONE of the hoses on your heater core, run a syphon pump thru down into your heater core, drain all the coolant out.

Now take that one hose and tie it to the other Inlet or Outlet of the heatercore....so that its just loope, not running down to your engine.

Now do basically the same thing with your engine, so the hoses ARENT running to the heatercore, so it wont be constantly pumping in coolant. You may need to run to autozone or advanceautoparts to buy a longer piece of hose in order to plug off the Engine Side of it....just make sure to take a piece of hose with you so you get the right diameter hose, also measure how long of hose you will need, then goto the store and they will cut you the right size piece of hose.

Ive seen people do this before, it works definately.

How do i remove the dashboard on a 1995 plymouth voyager?

i already have 60% of the dash board off. but the left side of the information panel located on the top of the steering area will not come off and there are no visible screws. i am trying to change my heater core. i know i have to go behind the dash board to get to the heater box to remove it to replace it. my situation is i cant afford to get this work done and must do it, so i must do it myself. there was a strong sweet scent (smelled like old anti freeze) coming from my vents and my heat doesn't work and i cant defrost my windshield. it fogs in seconds. i need all the help i can get. i've been working on this project for 3 days and haven't seen the heater core yet.How do i remove the dashboard on a 1995 plymouth voyager?
Did you pop the molding in front of the warning light panel (where your turn signal arrows are off? This just pops off and there are several screws that hold the panel in.

There are also screws in the instrument cluster that need to be removed, you may need to use a mirror to see them. The defrost air deflectors also pop off and there may be screws under them holding the dash. How do i remove the dashboard on a 1995 plymouth voyager?
You need to buy a Haynes manual from autozone. You picked one of the most irritating jobs to do on any car. I don't even mess with those things. Too many screws. I hope that you marked all of them and put them in ziplocks. Good luck!

95 Chev Lumina?

How long does it take to change the heater core in one?95 Chev Lumina?
I have been there done that with the heater core, about 1 - 2 hours. It really sucks trying to get the dash apart and if I remember correctly its right in the center too. The hardest part will be disconnecting the heater hoses. Words of advise, take the 2 front upper engine mounts off, leave the car in gear, rock the car back and forth and as soon as the engine tilts forward enough so you can get in there and work, lock the emergency brake to hold it.95 Chev Lumina?
I don;t know on that one, I had a 97 lumina, It was a good car but i had to give it up cause the fuel pump went out and it was going to be 780 bucks at a shop to be fixed, It's like over 400 just for the fuel pump, THat price was a litle less than half of what i paid for the car.95 Chev Lumina?

Its really not that bad of job.first you have to remove all screws holding the top of the evap-heater case.it extends all the way to bottom of windshield, you will also have to remove r-h wiper arm and the wide metal trim below it there is a screen type insert ,it has to come off to.the top case will be sealed to the firewall and will have to be freed up using a long putty knife .getting the top to come loose is the hardest part the rest is easy

Did you try to remove the hoses from inside the engine compartment and run a fairly strong stream of water placing the hose in one of the hose attachments and running it until it's clean water coming out. Then doing the same to the other attachment. this usually cleans out the heater core. maybe you can save some money.
