How to change a heater core on a 1994 gmc truck? doe sthe dash have to come out?

any input would be well appreciatedHow to change a heater core on a 1994 gmc truck? doe sthe dash have to come out?
Not all the dash but some pieces have to come out. It's under the glove box area. My labor book says 1.5 hours for that job on the %26quot;C%26quot; series (full size GM truck) so it isn't that bad. I'd suggest getting a service manual, like Haynes or Chilton. How to change a heater core on a 1994 gmc truck? doe sthe dash have to come out?

econofix is right . The dash does not have to come out . Compared to most cars this is a very easy job. Remove the lower airbox cover under the dash, located right below the glove box . This part is black in color and has about 10 ? screws in it. Heater core is in there. Remove two heater hoses under the hood

Make sure the engine is cooled off of course. How to change a heater core on a 1994 gmc truck? doe sthe dash have to come out?
It's a little easier on those models. The Haynes and Chiltons is primo advice, go that route and follow the directions.

Haynes Manual @ AutoZone $15
